The Controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data. For any privacy-related matter, please contact us at the email address above.

2 Data collected and purposes

ChipGen is a purely informational website. It does not collect personal data through registration forms, user accounts or newsletters. Below are the data automatically processed during navigation.

The site does not collect sensitive data (Art. 9 GDPR), data relating to criminal convictions (Art. 10 GDPR), children's data, nor does it perform automated profiling under Art. 22 GDPR.

ChipGen iOS App

โœ… The ChipGen app for iPhone does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.

The app works entirely offline: the full chip database ships with the app and no internet connection is ever required or used. The app contains no registration or login, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking technologies and no third-party SDKs.

The only data the app stores is your list of favorite chips, which is saved locally on your device using the iOS system storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device, is not accessible to the developer or to any third party, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

For the purposes of the Apple App Store privacy label, ChipGen is classified as "Data Not Collected".

3 Legal basis for processing

Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal (Art. 7(3) GDPR). You can manage or withdraw your consent by clicking "Manage cookies" in the cookie banner on the site.

4 Data retention

After the indicated periods, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised. In the event of litigation or requests from competent authorities, data may be retained for as long as necessary to protect the rights of the Controller.

5 Third parties and transfers

The site is currently hosted by Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus). Data processing by Hostinger takes place within the European Union and in compliance with the GDPR.

The site does not currently use any third-party services involving the transfer of personal data to external parties (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, tracking CDNs). Should such services be introduced, this Policy will be updated with details of the data processors and the safeguards adopted for transfers outside the EU (Art. 46 GDPR).

Personal data is not transferred, sold or disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes.

6 Rights of the data subject

Pursuant to Articles 15-22 of the GDPR, you may exercise the following rights at any time by sending a request to the Controller's email address. The Controller will respond within 30 days of receipt (Art. 12(3) GDPR).

7 Minors

The site is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect personal data from minors. Pursuant to Art. 8 GDPR and Art. 2-quinquies of the Italian Privacy Code, consent to the online processing of data of children under 14 must be given by those with parental responsibility.

Should the Controller become aware of having inadvertently received personal data of children under 14, such data will be deleted immediately.

8 Changes to this policy

The Controller reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time, notifying users through a notice on the site. Changes take effect from the date of publication. We recommend checking this page periodically.

In the event of substantial changes affecting the legal basis of processing or the categories of data collected, the Controller will request new consent where necessary.
